As we celebrate the 22nd Anniversary of Asian Heritage Month, the Victoria Chinatown Museum Society together with Lead Sponsor RBC, are thrilled to announce the return of Awakening Chinatown on May 26th, 2024.
We invite you to join us once again in the heart of Victoria’s Historic Chinatown to immerse yourself in cultural festivities with a day of captivating performances, arts, and crafts, presented by the Victoria Chinatown Museum Society and in collaboration with local Chinatown businesses.
This year, expect a wide variety of performances and activities for the whole family, including:
- The timeless grace of traditional Chinese dances, by youth and adult performers
- Vocal performances in various traditional and modern styles, by individuals and groups
- Drumming, magicians and other Asian performance arts
- Chinese arts and crafts and games
- Demonstrations of Chinese calligraphy and fortune telling
- and the chance to meet and learn about Chinese service and community cultural organizations.
